Pamela Hayden, who lent her voice to the character of Milhouse in The Simpsons, will retire from the series this Sunday, November 24, after 35 years of service.

It’s a voice of a historical character from The Simpsons who is retiring from the series. Pamela Hayden, who lent her voice to the character of Milhouse, Bart’s best friend, announced this Wednesday, November 20 that she would no longer continue the adventure that began 35 years ago. The voice actress will lend her voice for her last episode, broadcast this Sunday, November 24 on Fox.

Pamela Hayden lent her voice to other characters in the series such as the thug Jimbo Jones or the children of Ned Flanders, the neighbor of the Simpson family. The voice actress has been credited on nearly 700 episodes since 1989.

“It was an honor and a joy to have worked on such a funny, witty and revolutionary series. (…) I will always have a special place in my heart for this 10-year-old boy with blue hair and glasses,” Pamela Hayden said in a statement.

Milhouse is Bart’s best friend, making him one of the key characters in the American series. The 36th season of The Simpsons is currently airing in the United States.
