JK Rowling announces very good news for the long-awaited series

The Harry Potter series expected in 2026 on the Max platform is taking a huge leap forward as announced by JK Rowling! Two key figures from the creative team have been announced. Things are getting clearer for the return to Hogwarts!

The Harry Potter series takes a big step forward

Announced several years ago, the harry potter series will arrive on the Max platform in 2026. Highly anticipated by fans of the saga, it will mark the return of the famous wizard with glasses to the screens, fifteen years after the release of the last film in cinemas. This new adaptation promises to explore the magical universe of JK Rowling in even more depth, since the series will count seven seasonseach one being dedicated to a novel and will therefore follow Harry throughout his schooling at Hogwarts. JK Rowling is supervising the project, and is the executive producer. A way for her to keep an eye on the coherence of the project in relation to her work so appreciated throughout the world.

This Wednesday, June 26, the author and producer announced that the series was finally moving forward with the appointment of two key figures of its creative team. Thus, Francesca Gardiner has been appointed as showrunner and writer, while Mark Mylod will direct several episodes. Both have won awards for their work on the series Succession.

I am delighted to announce our director and screenwriter. Their passion for #HarryPotter is palpable, and after reading Francesca’s pilot script and hearing Mark’s vision, I’m confident the series will surpass all expectations.

A highly anticipated casting

The cast of the harry potter series is one of the most anticipated aspects of the production. The iconic roles of Harry, Hermione and Ron, initially played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the cinema, will have to find new faces capable of captivating a new generation of fans. Producers are aware of the challenge and promise to choose actors who will bring “renewed freshness and depth to the characters.”

This new cast will not only have to live up to the high expectations of fans, but also redefine these roles for a new era that is expected to last for several years. As with the films, these new performers will start out as children, and audiences will watch them grow on screen over the course of the seasons.
