A new Grammy for Kendrick Lamar?

The possibility really exists.

The incredible story of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track against Drake continues. Indeed, we have just learned that “Not Like Us”, which already has numerous records to its credit, that the title would undoubtedly be eligible for the Grammy Awards. In other words, we can dirty insult Drizzy and win one of the most prestigious titles in music. In any case, this is what Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, explained to TMZ when asked about the subject.

“Obviously it’s a hot track from an incredibly talented artist. The writing is superb… It’s incredible.”

Harvey Mason Jr. also highlighted Kendrick Lamar’s rich history with the Grammy Awards and the many wins he has earned over the years in several different categories.

“You have an artist who’s already been nominated. He’s also won several awards. I don’t see any reason why that couldn’t be the case this year.”

According to him, the track’s relevance in the current musical landscape and its place in pop culture only strengthens its chances of securing a nomination.

“He has an impact on many levels. I think the members of the Academy will recognize that.”

Ultimately, it would almost be the logical next step for a title that continues to break record after record. It will return to number one on the Billboard chart this week and has been number one in over 50 countries while being certified double platinum in the United States. In short, more than a diss track, “Not Like Us” is a real phenomenon!
