It’s now official, 2024 marks the end of the Vivendi era for Garorock. It was the director of the festival himself, Ludovic Larbodie, who announced it this Tuesday evening during a visit to the site. Information confirmed this Wednesday morning by a representative of Vincent Bolloré’s group, who nevertheless participated in part of the organization of these four days of celebration.

300 million euros

Vivendi acquired the festival in 2018 and had been planning, since September, to divest itself of its ticketing and festival activities, of which Garorock was a part. Several companies had positioned themselves for this takeover.

The finalization of the sale finally took place earlier than expected and it is the German group CTS Eventim, a specialist in ticketing and “the largest producer of festivals in Europe” which is ultimately in charge of this 27e editing. The ticketing and festival activities acquired by CTS Eventim represented a turnover of 137 million euros in 2023.

After a promise to purchase at the beginning of April, the operation was concluded on June 6 for a value of around 300 million euros. This establishment allows the new shareholder to complete its international and European network. What consequences? The identity and management of Garorock will be “preserved”, the event assures.
