The Timitar Festival, which takes place from July 4 to 6 in Agadir, offers for its 19th edition a rich artistic program celebrating the diversity of cultures and sounds.

Initiated under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this unmissable event on the Moroccan and international music scene which promises an immersive and festive experience, will welcome a constellation of renowned artists, coming from the four corners of the world to share their passion and talent, indicates a press release from the Timitar Association.

Amazigh music will be in the spotlight with legends such as Hamid Inerzaf and Oudaden and traditional groups like Ahwach Taliouine, Ahwach Tata and Ahwach Imin Tanout, notes the same source, stressing that the new generation will be represented by Fatima Tachtoukt, Karim Lajwad , Joubantouja, Tassouta N’Imal, Meteor Airlines and Ribab Fusion.

The Rrayssates and Rrways shows, scheduled at the Théâtre de Verdure, will highlight the richness of the Amazigh musical and poetic tradition, while lovers of Arab fusion and pop will vibrate to the rhythm of the concerts of Faia Younan, the captivating voice of Syria , Hamza Namira, the Egyptian star, Abu, the artist behind the hit “3 Daqat”, Oum, the Moroccan diva who will present her new album “Dakchi”, Douzi, the Moroccan Raï prodigy, Zakaria Ghafouli, and Hasba Groove, which revisits chaâbi with a modern touch.

The 19th edition of Timitar will also offer a musical journey across Africa with the Amazons of Africa and the Cesaria Orchestra who will pay tribute to the legendary Cesaria Evora in the presence of artists Elida Almeida, Ceuzany and Taofillo Chantre.

The African music scene will also be in the spotlight with renowned artists such as Kel Assouf, Imed Alibi and Justin Adams, as well as Ali Amran, ardent defender of the Amazigh heritage.

Jazz and soul lovers will be delighted by the presence of Jamaaladeen Tacuma, virtuoso bassist from Philadelphia, emblematic figure of the jazz fusion scene.
Accompanied by talented artists from Agadir, Mehdi Qamoum and Saïd Ozous, he promises a unique performance mixing jazz, funk, R&B and world music.

Timitar 2024 will highlight the rap scene with two artists with unique universes: Dada, a rapper from Agadir who skillfully mixes Darija, Amazigh and English in his lyrics, and DYSTINCT, an international urban artist whose success transcends borders.

For fans of electronic music, the festival which will take place on three emblematic stages of Agadir: Al Amal square, Bijaouane square and the Théâtre de Verdure, offers a rich and varied program with the participation of DJ Omary, DJ MKA, D33P SOUL, NDRK and DJ FLAVA, essential figures of the Moroccan and international electro scene.

According to Timitar’s artistic director, Brahim El Mazned, “this 19th edition is a celebration of musical diversity, a crossroads where cultures from around the world meet. We look forward to sharing this unique experience with the public.”
