After launching her makeup brand, Maeva Ghennam has just released her first perfume, “Rouge Rogue”. If the influencer’s fans had reason to rejoice, many of them grimaced when they discovered its price: 200 euros for 100 ml.
To justify the exorbitant cost of her fragrance, the 27-year-old Frenchwoman based in Dubai said that this perfume had been created in France by the most famous nose in France. “I knew the price would get people talking, I suspected it, but it’s worth it. There are people who spend 400 euros on a Vuitton or Dior perfume, and there, it’s the same thing, it’s the same range,” she added on social networks.
Despite her explanations, the reality TV candidate was widely criticized on the Web. “It was in Dubai that we had to market this, cousin here, it’s a crisis, leave us alone,” protested an Internet user. “And she compares herself to Dior and Louis Vuitton as well,” added another. Some also found it “illogical” to sell its product so expensively when it is mainly aimed at teenage girls who cannot spend such a sum.
