Either there is now fourteen years old. So it’s been a very long time since Shrek last appeared on the big screen. But he will come back soon.

…followed by a film centered on the Donkey!

In April 2023, Eddie Murphy, who voiced the famous ogre in the original version, explained that he was more than up for reprising his role in a fifth film. However, his wish was granted. Because, in a recent interview for Collider, the actor confirmed that a Shrek 5 was in preparation. The dubbing has even already started:

“We started making Shrek 5 four or five months ago. I recorded the vocals for the first act and we’re going to finish it this year. »

The actor also confirmed the rumor that had been circulating for many months. Namely the one who spoke ofa new spin-off centered on Donkey. So, such a film will indeed see the light of day. According to Eddie Murphy, voice recording for this feature film will begin once Shrek 5 will be closed.
