While traveling in Belfast, Prince William found one of his great childhood loves, abandoned for many years. The reason? This was an activity that completely “terrified” Kate Middleton.
In Northern Ireland, Prince William rediscovered a passion he had abandoned for love. While visiting the virtual production studios at Ulster University in Belfast, the heir to the British throne could not resist the urge to get back on a motorbike, installed on a stationary platform in front of a virtual backdrop of the Arizona desert.
“Any excuse to get on a motorbike!” he exclaimed when he saw the machine. The future king was even ready to ride it, asking people around if it was possible to remove the motorcycle from its platform. “I feel like someone must be taking this for a real ride,” he said, the magazine tells Hello ! . “I love this exhaust,” he also commented, highlighting his little technical knowledge in the field.

And this passion seems (really) lacking in Prince William. He actually abandoned her for one good and simple reason: his wife, Kate Middleton. In 2015, the Princess of Wales admitted that she hated her husband’s hobby. “He still drives it. It always fills me with horror when he does it. I’m terrified, she admitted at the time. I hope I can stop George from doing it.”
“I have to moderate my game”
A passion that his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, also feared during her lifetime. “I think it scares the life out of people at Buckingham Palace, and almost certainly the Queen as well,” royal expert James Whitaker said.
And a few years later, Prince William seemed to have listened to the prayers of those around him. During a visit to the Isle of Man in 2018, Prince William admitted to having abandoned his passion himself. “I am the father of three children. I have to moderate my game,” he said, nevertheless recognizing that he missed the big motorcycle trips.
