50 Cent, Drake, The Game: they all had their little commentary there.

A highly anticipated fight

Unless you live in a cave, or seriously want to boycott the event like some members of the editorial staff, you have obviously heard about the boxing match organized between the legend Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, an American influencer with a very big mouth. An exhibition show, with rules slightly different from real boxing fights, and which took place ended in a defeat for Tyson by decision of the judges, after 8 rounds of a fight generally to the advantage of the influencer, who is twice younger than the legend as we recall. Necessarily, Many of the stars of the rap game were in front of their televisions on Friday evening to watch the match, and their reactions have multiplied over the past two days.

A rap game generally behind Mike Tyson

We might have expected it, but it’s still nice to notice: the US rap stars were generally all behind Mike Tyson, with a few rare exceptions. Some were even so behind Iron Mike that they lost colossal sums betting on him, like Drake, who bet $355,000 on the victory of the boxing legend (don’t worry, he made up for it by betting on a victory for Jon Jones against Miocic).

The Game immediately sent his support to Tyson after his defeat, via a post on Twitter in which he said: “I see a bunch of weird celebrities saying that Mike didn’t look good, that it was sad,… Y’all are crazy, I saw a 58 year old legend last 8 rounds with a 27 year old guy in front of the whole world, in a packed football stadium and walking away with 20 million dollars, his dignity and another accomplishment made just for him I’m proud of you champion!.

50 Cent also reacted to the defeat of Mike Tyson and especially to the near-death experience that the boxer mentioned after the fight: Mike would indeed have come close to death during the summer, right in the middle of his preparation. The champion revealed it in an interview at the end of the match: he would even have lost more than ten kilos and half of his blood, forcing him to receive 8 transfusions. But Fifty didn’t really appreciate the confidences at the end of the match: “Damn! Mike you’re scaring the kids, what’s wrong with you, chill dude. Note to self: keep the kids away from Mike”we can read on Instagram.

Freddie Gibbs was keen to assure Mike of his support, saying that the result was sad, but adding in a second tweet: “fuck this fight. You’re still the goat”by reposting a photo of him with the boxer. Eventually, almost no rapper will have taken Jake Paul’s side, other than the usual troll, Lil Pump, who praised him for doing his thing. We expected nothing less from him…
