As part of its 2024 call for projects, the CPAM of Hérault provided financial support of €505,081 to 100 associative initiatives local. These subsidies, from Health and Social Action funds, will be paid for aid ranging from €2,000 to €20,000. “This aid aims to strengthen access to care and promote health prevention among populations the most vulnerable of the department,” recalls the organization.

Six themes this year

The CPAM, which recently inaugurated its new building in , specifies that the call for projects this year was structured around six themes : health sport, environmental health, access to care for people in precarious situations, support for patients and their caregivers, support for people with disabilities and improvement of access to health care for young people.

Sports-Health : 14 projects were selected for total funding of €44,100, “in particular” to fight against inactivity and a sedentary lifestyle… Physical activity is the great national cause of the year 2024 to encourage regular practice, in particular among young people,” recalls the CPAM;

Environmental health : 5 projects will be supported to the tune of €16,000 “to raise awareness about air quality and the dangers of exposure to endocrine disruptors. The impact of the environment on health is a priority”;

Access to health : 28 projects were financed for a total of €142,823 “in order to reduce social inequalities in health and facilitate access to care for the most vulnerable populations in the department… Guaranteeing universal access to health is the one of the founding principles of Health Insurance”.

Support for patients and caregivers : funding of €101,270 was thus granted to 17 projects. “Faced with the increase in chronic diseases, support actions are essential to improve the quality of life of patients, pain management, palliative care, while taking into account the impact on their loved ones”;

Supporting people with disabilities : 17 projects were selected, benefiting from a total allocation of €106,600. “Ensuring equal rights, opportunities and civic participation for people with disabilities is at the heart of a solidarity approach. We must promote their social and professional inclusion and facilitate their access to rights and care”;

Promoting access to health for young people : 19 projects were selected, benefiting from total funding of €94,288. “With a poverty rate of 12.8% among 18-24 year olds, twice as high as the national average, young people face significant health vulnerabilities. Hence the support for initiatives to promote mental and sexual health and oral hygiene among this population.”
