Dutch singer Emma Heesters, known for her duets with Metejoor and Maksim Stojanac, announced on Instagram that she had cervical cancer.
Emma Heesters, known for her collaborations with Metejoor and Maksim, announced bad news to her 2.2 million followers on Instagram: “Early last month I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. It was, of course, a huge shock”. Diagnosed at the beginning of October, the singer shared her emotion and the difficulty of this ordeal, while emphasizing the strength she draws from her passion for the stage. “I drew a lot of energy and strength from being on stage during this emotional time”she explained.
The 28-year-old singer will now focus on her treatment, which will include chemotherapy in the coming months. She cleared her schedule for the next three months, to give her body every chance to recover. “I don’t know yet how it will go, and I want to give my body every chance to respond as positively as possible to the treatment (…). I am hopeful of getting healthy again and I hope to be able to give you positive news soon.”she added.
The singer, who enjoyed success with titles like “Rendez-vous” and “That Should Have Been Us,” continues to face this ordeal with optimism.
