What a happy initiative to have programmed French, Swiss and British composers from different eras on Wednesday evening at the Victoria Hall in Geneva! Put on in collaboration with the Les Créatives festival, this concert allowed us to savor contrasting pieces, by composers who are sometimes dead and sometimes living. In other words, a new repertoire for the public and for the musicians of the Orchester de la Suisse Romande (OSR).

Under the precise and sensitive direction of Zofia Kiniorska, new assistant conductor at the OSR for the 2024-2025 season, these pieces revealed personalities immersed in the aesthetic trends of their time. We cannot help but make connections between the style of this or that female composer and the male peers of their time – a fault due to the historical listening milestones to which we have been accustomed.
