Is it finally the start of summer? After a final shower in the afternoon, the sky was more clement, although overcast, this Friday, June 21 for the Music Festival.
The La Châtelleraudaise orchestra is popular
For this longest day of the year, there were many people from Châtelleraud in the streets of the city center and on the terrace for the Fête de la Musique. Even if the 2e The Blues’ Euro football match against the Netherlands was a bit of competition.
The epicenter of the Fête de la Musique in Châtellerault was of course Boulevard Blossac with the main stage. Jazz-soul singer Sandy Dawkins notably covered songs by Amy Winehouse.
Place Zola also attracted people with the La Châtelleraudaise orchestra (Les Ateliers harmony and the orchestra class), under the direction of Emmanuel Boulanger.
In Bourbon and des Mignons streets, the concerts were more confidential.
Le Merle Moqueur had its stage open with four Châtelleraudais groups which followed one another: Sans qu’état d’âme, Hirundo, Un8able (metal) and even DJ Yory.
For the occasion, tables and chairs encroached on the roads with blocked access. “The Music Festival is important for us bar and restaurant owners because we can generate almost five days of turnover”slips the boss of Merle Moqueur, Sébastien Duplessis.
Finally, the popular district of Châteauneuf was also there, thanks to the Châteauneuf merchants’ association: the rock band Stupa at the foot of the church opened the ball with its powerful rock.
