Listened to by millions of listeners every week, the show “Les Grosses Têtes” welcomes new members each season. This Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Belgian comedian Kody was to take his first steps there, but was ultimately conspicuous by his absence. In the columns of Ciné-Télé-Revue magazine, Laurent Ruquier has just explained why their collaboration did not take place…

A cult show

Originally created by host and producer Philippe Bouvard, The Big Heads saw the light of day on Inter in 1977. The show has stood out from its beginnings for its original formula which combines general knowledge quizzes, lively debates and comic improvisations.all in a format where humor and the repartees of its guests are at the heart of the show.

The program is based on a simple concept: a group of celebrities, often from the world of television, stage or politics, meets around a host and answers questions asked by the host, in a spirit of friendly competition. But what makes the show charming is the spontaneity of the exchanges, the jokes, the imitations and the discussions which often go in totally unexpected directions. The show quickly gained popularity and became a real audience success.

In 2001, after nearly 24 years of good and loyal service, Philippe Bouvard leaves his place to Laurent Ruquieranother flagship presenter on the French audiovisual scene. The tone of the show remains true to its heritage while adapting to changing public tastes and the personalities that make up the team. Under the leadership of Laurent Ruquier, the show is experiencing a new lease of life and is continuing its journey by also being broadcast on television, notably on France 2.

A new recruit… finally dismissed

Always very happy to welcome new recruits, Laurent Ruquier has just expressed his disappointment at the absence of a new recently recruited profile. “We were supposed to have a new Big Head today called Kody Kim” he declared this Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

The host then explained why he ultimately did not show up. “RTBF informed him at the last moment that he did not have the right to participate because the show is also broadcast on Bel RTL in Belgium… which is the direct competitor of RTBF. So, at the last moment, our comrade cannot be with us today“.

Enough to make the guests of the day react who did not mince their words about RTBF and its ethical decision. “The bastards, it’s like we’re in North Korea!”, “You mean in learned words that RTBF are sluts!”, “In any case, they really pissed us off!” they exclaimed.
