CONCERTS. The Montclair vocal ensemble is preparing, with numerous rehearsals at the Fernandel Hall, for the three Christmas concerts, which will take place despite a twist of fate.

This is the bad news, which fell at the end of October, for Montclair. Faithful choir director and harpsichordist for many years, Stefano Intrieri, who had prepared the program for the traditional Christmas concerts of the Langres vocal ensemble, and directed the first rehearsals, was forced, for reasons beyond his control, to to finally forfeit. Fortunately, he was able to be replaced at short notice. Renowned soprano and recipient of numerous awards, Anne-Sophie Duprels has agreed to take charge of operations.

“We are relieved… While waiting for his arrival, we continued our rehearsals independently,” underlines Dominique Viard, president of Montclair. Anne-Sophie Duprels, however, is not a harpsichordist (unlike Stefano Intrieri), the musical accompaniment has been reworked. “We will have an organist, a viola da gamba and a violin,” specifies Dominique Viard.

The Christmas concerts will be held on Friday, December 6, at 8:30 p.m., in the church of Biesles, Saturday, December 7, in the church of Andelot and Sunday, December 8, at 5:30 p.m., in the church of Saint- Martin of Langres. The program will mainly focus on the compositions of Antonio Vivaldi.
