He is an unusual artist who will take up residence at the Théâtre du 5bis, on Thursday 14 and Saturday 16 November 2024 at 8:00 p.m., near La Réole, in Gironde. A trained philosopher, Yves Cuisset knew how to break the codesand it’s been going on for over 20 years!
He will present his play entitled “The dream life of philosophers”
A successful author, Yves Cuisset is also an actor and humorist. It is in this context that he stops in this rural town of Gironde to present his play The dream life of philosophersadapted from his eponymous book published in 2012.
The least we can say is that Yves Cuisset is a man apart. It is defined as a “philosopher-humorist”. “To make people laugh for an hour, I find that quite wonderful,” confides the artist, who was performing in Brussels (Belgium) last week.
To get there, Yves had to work hard. Since his debut at the famous Parisian theater The Semicolonthis man with insatiable curiosity has been traveling the theater stages for almost twenty years. “There are people who know how to make jokes, that wasn’t my case. I had to have something to say, something sincere,” he explains.
What could be better, then, than combining your love of play and reflection? A nice revenge for the one who had chosen to embark on philosophy studies, lack of means to study theater.
“It’s a way to rediscover a light dimension of existence”
In his books as on stage, Yves pursues a unique objective: make people laugh and fight against the ambient gloom. “I want us to rediscover the lightness of the child. The world is very gloomy these days, it is becoming more and more depressing,” laments the philosopher before recalling the importance of humor. “It’s a way to rediscover a light dimension of existence. »
In addition to his show, Yves will dedicate his latest work Love at your fingertips on Saturday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m., at the Bookstore La Folie en Têtelocated at 32 rue André-Bénac, still in La Réole.
This book is intended to be “an answer to the questions people ask about love”, but in the form of hoaxes told by a “pseudo-expert”.
