Nearly 200 people came this Monday to have their photos taken. The “shooting” was held in the Center neighborhood center, as part of a project for the Millennium of Caen. The Surface collective without a target plans to exhibit a thousand portraits of Caennais men and women. 10 professional photographers participate, each with their own vision and originality. This Monday, for the last photo session, photographer Linaupe Carter was behind the lens. He takes sober portraits, facing the camera in front of a neutral background.
The project had significant success: “There are really a lot of people”whispers the photographer, “It’s a bit of a marathon, but I’m very happy.”
Exhibition in 2025
The portraits will then be retouched, printed, and exhibited for nearly three months in the Scriptorium room, at Caen town hall. But not all participants will see their photo displayed: the collective exceeded its objective of 1000 people photographed! On the other hand, everyone will receive their photo, whether it is exhibited or not.
The opening of the exhibition takes place on January 10, 2025, and the photos will be up until mid-March.
