Mattel “has been informed of a printing error on the packaging of dolls from the Mattel Wicked collection, mainly sold in the United States, the company said in a statement reported by CNN, assuring that it “deeply regrets this unfortunate error ” and having taken “immediate measures to remedy this.” “Parents are informed that the poorly printed and incorrect website is not appropriate for children,” assured the toy manufacturer, owner of the Barbie brand.
In its press release, Mattel also called on its affected customers to throw away the packaging of these products or hide the erroneous link.
This range of dolls was launched as a special edition, in partnership with Universal Pictures, for the upcoming release of the first part of the film adaptation of the hit musical Wicked, which revisits the tale of the Wizard of Oz.
