In (Finistère), in five locations in the heart of the city (the Max-Jacob cultural center, the Ateliers du Jardin, the Novomax, the Ti-ar-Vro room and the Objethèque de Cornouaille), the 29e dimension, an association of lovers of imaginative literature, is organizing the 4e edition of the Finistellare festival.

This annual event was until now organized at the Abeilles social center.

Around thirty authors

“This event is intended to be a space for discovery, debate and creativity around contemporary literature of the imagination,” says Guillaume Volant, the president. On the program, signings with around thirty authors, conferences, events and exhibitions. No less than ten round tables: “Time travel”, “The influence of the imagination on youth”, “The genesis of a postapocalyptic world”… are on the menu, during the festival, Saturday 16 and Sunday November 17, 2024.

The festival will open Friday, November 15, at Novomax, at 7 p.m. An aperitif will be offered to the public before the film-debate evening, at 8 p.m., around the film District 9, by Neill Blomkamp, ​​with Sharlto Copley (hat session). The debate: “The legal status of the extraterrestrial on planet Earth”.

The festival will be an opportunity to discover the Nuit des Légendes association, which highlights story walks and books, with the Pleuven Book Festival.

Treasure hunt

An introduction to science fiction board games will be offered, by the boutique Le gestion-méninges, in the Ti-ar-vro room. For those who wish to learn how to use the emblematic weapon of the Jedi knights, the Quimper Lightsaber Academy has planned activity sessions.

A large treasure hunt, Finistellium, will invite participants to solve five puzzles. A good opportunity for them to go to the five festival sites and see the two exhibitions, at the Objethèque, at the Embarcadère, 4, rue Jacques-Cartier.

The first exhibition is devoted to the “Chronology of science fiction” while the second, created by Rémy Toularastel, features wooden robots.

From Friday November 15, 2024, at 7 p.m., at Sunday November 17, 2024, at 6 p.m., Finistellar festival. Hours, Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free. QUB bus network access on the platforms.
