VIDEO – In “C l’hebdo” on France 5, the comedian criticized Radio France’s decision to fire its columnist.

In the Guillaume Meurice affair, Anne Roumanoff ruled. “I find it ridiculous to have fired him. I don’t like this joke, but I think he has the right to do it. Humor has the right to be clumsy. Humor is attempts”she estimates this Saturday June 15 in “C l’hebdo”.

After more than a month of suspension, Guillaume Meurice was finally fired from Radio France for “repeated disloyalty”. “Guillaume Meurice left us no other choice than to draw the consequences of his obstinacy and his repeated disloyalty”explained the president of Radio France Sibyle Veil in a letter sent to employees.

Last October, Guillaume Meurice compared Israeli head of government Benyamin Netanyahu to a “kind of a Nazi but without a foreskin”, in one of his columns broadcast in “Le Grand Dimanche Soir” on France Inter. The controversy had grown and led to a warning from Arcom.

There is no such thing as good humor or bad humor. If we start to decide that, then what’s the next step?

“We live in a difficult period, it’s complicated to create humor. We don’t hit the mark every time, there are all kinds of humor for all kinds of people. There is no such thing as good humor or bad humor. If we start to decide that, then what’s the next step? If there is a somewhat extreme regime in France that comes, then we will make commissions to say this joke is good, is it not good?asks Anne Roumanoff this evening in the France 5 talk show hosted by Aurélie Casse.

“It shocks me. There have been precedents with Stéphane Guillon, Nicole Ferroni, Didier Porte. At all times, there have been comedians who have been fired but I find that in the current period, there are perhaps other emergencies than firing Guillaume Meurice for a joke that is unsuccessful.concludes the comedian.
