Jazzablanca 2024: Successful edition in a festive atmosphere

The Jazzablanca festival, an unmissable event for jazz music lovers, has just concluded its 17th edition at Anfa Park. A look back at an event marked by a varied program and high attendance.

The festival began on June 6 with a performance by London collective Kokoroko on Stage 21, mixing jazz and Afrobeat. The Casa Anfa stage has seen renowned artists such as the British group UB40, celebrating their 45th anniversary, and Paolo Nutini, Scottish pop rock prodigy.

James Blunt and Kaléo particularly attracted the crowds. What emerges from the impressions expressed by festival-goers is that it was mainly around these two artists that expectations were concentrated. Their performance was remarkable. James Blunt was able to create a touching moment of communion with his best-known and most loved song, “Goodbye my lover”, which did not fail to inspire a little nostalgia in the spectators.

Kaléo, meanwhile, impressed with his energetic folk rock. On the Nouveau Souffle by Société Générale stage, located at Place des Nations-Unis, Moroccan talents such as Anass Oublaid ft. Raw Rhythm and The Leïla highlighted the richness of Moroccan musical heritage, and introduced a welcome touch of diversity into the programming.

A sold-out festival
One of the surprises of this edition was the collaboration between the Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer and the Moroccan maâlema Hind Ennaïra on the Casa Anfa stage. This performance is a good example of the power of music to break down cultural boundaries and unite audiences around moments of pure musical enjoyment. The association of the two artists is completely successful!

To close the festival, the Italian singer Zucchero offered a performance which summarized the highlights of his 40-year career. At Anfa Park, he charmed the nostalgic and seduced the youngest. Festival-goers appreciated the Village spaces and the numerous Chill Zones which offered moments of relaxation and conviviality.

The varied and high-quality catering was also praised. “We loved the music, and also the relaxation areas! The food was excellent,” commented a very young festival-goer. Another participant pointed out: “It’s my first time! I’m not necessarily a jazz fan, but the programming was fantastic! »

With a “Sold out” display, joy reigning on all faces, and enthusiasm that grew as the evenings progressed, the Jazzablanca 2024 edition confirmed its status as a major festival in the city and even the country. The record attendance demonstrated the public’s enthusiasm for this far-reaching musical event.

Indeed, with a quality program and a very special festive atmosphere, Jazzablanca remains a flagship event on the Casablanca music scene, and festival-goers are already impatient to discover what the next edition will have in store for them. See you next year for a new musical adventure, surely even more enriching!
