One more reward, one would be tempted to say. But for Arnaud Lallement, being one of the 100 best chefs in the world according to the ranking of the Best Chef Awards 2024 which was unveiled this week in Dubai, is anything but anecdotal. “It is always an honor to be recognized by the profession, tells L’union the chef of Assiette champenoise, in Tinqueux near Reims. In previous years, there was a ranking from 1 to 100. In 2021, I was ranked 78ethen I was out of the ranking. This year, they abandoned the principle of this classification and created categories: one, two or three knives (knives in English). »
Arnaud Lallement thus finds himself with “Three knives”, the highest recognition awarded in 2024 to 97 chefs around the world, including 13 French. “Even if my favorite rankings are Michelin and Gault et Millau, belonging to this list recognized throughout the world allows people to talk about the restaurant. There will be customers who will come because they will have seen that we are part of it. »
The region is also indirectly represented in this top 100 by Daniel Calvert. Just like Arnaud Lallement, he obtained the “Three knives” with his restaurant in Tokyo which bears the name “Sézanne”. A brand that not only pays homage to French cuisine, but also to the city of malls, declared its executive chef.
And soon the release of Gault et Millau
This month of November should once again bring a smile to the Marne chef’s face with the unveiling of the notes from the next Gault et Millau France on November 18, then the publication of the List of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world. This latest ranking is intended to be as complete and objective as possible since it uses a unique algorithm to synthesize and evaluate gastronomic reviews from more than 1,000 sources, ranging from renowned guides to press articles, blogs and review sites, and calculate a score out of 100 per restaurant. Last year, Arnaud Lallement obtained the second highest score tied with 99 out of 100.
Please note that this year, as well as at the start of next year, the publication of the various gastronomic guides will be particularly interesting to follow in our region which has experienced quite a few upheavals with the departure of Philippe Mille des Crayères to create his own restaurant , the arrival of a new chef in his place or even the presence of a new chef at Royal Champagne.
