In Betton, near Rennes, the La Confluence hall has focused since its renovation in 2017 on programming, mainly focused on music and world cultures. A decision taken out of a desire to discover another perspective, but also to stand out from the rich offer offered in Rennes and throughout the metropolis.
Last year, the season was 91% complete. We started with a full room last October. We hope to have as much success for the next meetings
says Sabine Rouanet, deputy in charge of culture at Betton town hall.
Pushing the boundaries
The audience for these concerts is of course from Betton, but also increasingly made up of residents of the Rennes area. Our desire, obviously, is that the public comes for an artist once, but that they come back out of curiosity, because they feel confident in our programming choices.
adds Céline Illig, the director of culture for the community.
The team has also added, since 2023, a concert where everyone is standing, with a refreshment bar. We attract a younger audience, who come from further afield.
