After the sequel “Blade Runner 2049”, released in 2017, the Prime Video platform is preparing a series with, in its cast, one of the revelations of the “Euphoria” phenomenon.
The Blade Runner franchise continues. After the classic by Ridley Scott released in 1982 and its sequel, directed by Denis Villeneuve in 2017, Prime Video is preparing a series, Blade Runner 2099. According to Deadline, Hunter Schaferthe star of Euphoria and The Hunger Game: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird, joins the cast alongside Michelle Yeoh.
As its title indicates, this new chapter will be set 50 years after the events of the previous film. In a press release, the co-president of Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, explained that this sequel will remain faithful to “the intelligence, themes and spirit of the films.”
Ridley Scott will not be back behind the camera, but will produce the program with his company Scott Free Productionns, while Silka Luisa – screenwriter of the series Shining Girls with Elisabeth Moss – is responsible for writing the episodes.

After a one-year postponement due to the Hollywood strike, filming of Blade Runner 2099 began in April in complete discretion. If the shots were first supposed to take place in Belfast, they finally took place in Prague, in the Czech Republic.
