Rising star of Hollywood cinema, Paul Mescal confided in a particularly honest interview that he did not think he would live a “long life”. He even admits to being “afraid of death”.
A surprising confession. The one who is placed in the spotlight for his character, who continues to fight death scene after scene in Gladiator II, has just given himself up with transparency. Words full of humanity.
In an interview given to the media GQ Magazine, the main actor in Ridley Scott’s new film admits that he has “the deep conviction that he is going to die young.” He explains: “I was always convinced that I was not going to have a long life. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I can’t imagine myself being 80.”
Continuing to confide, the actor, who made a name for himself thanks to the series “Normal People”, goes even further: “I am also afraid of death. So I think if death came to me at 55, I would be just as afraid of it as if I was 90. I really don’t believe people who claim to be “ready for this.” I say to myself, “They’re idiots.”
A state of mind so present in the head of the 28-year-old young man that it helps shape his life plan: “I hope I’m wrong, but I always thought I wouldn’t age. It’s always been in my head. I told myself that I would have a young family and that I would not survive long. I hope I’m wrong. I think I’m wrong. But that’s just the truth of what I’m thinking right now.”
