In November 2014, WWE released videos to introduce the new trio New Day. Videos where we saw Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston singing gospel.
Since then, they have been able to win the WWE Tag Team Titles 11 times together to become one of the teams with the most reigns. After WWE RAW on November 4, 2024, Adam Pearce had a discussion with Kofi Kingston backstage to tell him that they are going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of New Day with a full show:
”This year, ten years of New Day. It’s time to celebrate. You are one of the teams with the most reigns in WWE history. For this reason, if you don’t mind, I wanted to dedicate a special episode of RAW to honor you. A whole episode, if you don’t mind?”
Kofi Kingston accepted the offer without consulting his partner Xavier Woods, stating:
”The New Day is in a complex period. But I have a feeling that when this birthday comes, everything will be fine.”
We will have to wait for the next news to find out when this special episode of RAW will take place to celebrate the 10th anniversary of New Day.
It now remains to be seen whether this celebratory show will help resolidify the New Day or whether they will realize that this would be the moment for a definitive separation.
