When a Hollywood star invites himself to his own lookalike competition… Despite all his efforts, Timothée Chalamet recently failed to win the prize for best resemblance to himself, during a competition in New York , Variety magazine reported.

About twenty young men, with chiseled jaws and wavy hazel-colored hair, were gathered in New York’s Washington Square Park when about 30 minutes after the start of the event, the star actor of “Call me by your name ” arrived to everyone’s surprise.

Timothée Chalamet weaved through the crowd, hidden behind a black mask and baseball cap, before heading toward two lookalikes who were posing for photos. Once in the middle, he took off his mask, as screams erupted throughout the park, according to Variety.

Footage posted on social media captured the moment the 28-year-old actor appeared in front of a reflective disc, delighting fans who held up their mobile phones.

“How do I know if it’s really him? It could be that it’s just a very good double…” wrote a user, like other fans who were taken aback.
But there is no doubt, it was indeed the Franco-American actor from “Dune” and “Wonka”, one of the most sought-after in Hollywood, who will play the living legend of folk rock Bob Dylan in a biopic currently being filmed in New York.

“Thank you to my number 1 fan (Timothée) for coming,” wrote YouTube creator AnthonyPo on the social network X, who presents himself as the originator of this lookalike competition.
The winner, decked out in Willy Wonka’s purple cape, was presented with a huge gold trophy and a check for $50, according to social media posts about the event.
