Eliminated during the prime of November 2, 2024 on TF1 against Maïa, Ulysses and Marine, Thomas returned to his elimination at the microphone of Ciné-Télé-Revue two days after leaving the “Star Academy” adventure on TF1.

Hello Thomas! How do you feel after all these emotions and this elimination which surprised the public a little?

Let’s say that things are much better now. But it’s true that the last 48 hours that I experienced between the end of the prime and today, it was complicated. It was a bit of a roller coaster of emotions, but honestly, I came out of it better than I thought. And above all, I was not alone.

How did it go when you left the set?

I was lucky enough to have a word from each teacher and each tutor, Lucie and Fanny, and also from the director. Everyone came one by one, so I had the right to one speech per person, but each speech was different, full of love, support, it really helped me a lot. I also had the opportunity to chat with my parents, my uncle, my friends and, for once, it lifted my morale. They reminded me why I was doing all this, and that the end of “Star Ac” isn’t the end of my career or anything. It’s weird to say career! But yes, I was lucky to be well surrounded from the start.

Did you expect this elimination, or did some feel like they were leaving more than others?

Honestly, we were all thinking of leaving. Marine only said: “Yeah, but no, it’s the public who will save you, I’m seriously going to leave”, Ulysse was more rational, in the mode: “Well if I leave, it doesn’t matter, we we’ll see, there’s no point in thinking about it, we have to think about what we’re going to do at the present moment. » Maïa was stressed, so was I. But honestly, I kind of saw it coming. Afterwards, that doesn’t mean I let myself get discouraged. I gave everything 100% and never gave up!

“It’s abominable and not fair”: Thomas, nominated, disappointed by the song he will perform with Maïa to defend his place in the “Star Academy”

You weren’t very happy with the choice of song you had to defend your place with. Do you think that played a role in your elimination?

I didn’t tell myself that I was given this song so that I would fail, no. It’s just that I was scared, because when I heard it, I said to myself… what the hell is that? This is not my register at all. How am I supposed to defend myself if a song is not in my register? Except that the choices are made by people who make songs. So this choice was not made for nothing. It was a real challenge for me, to also remember why I make music. It’s not just to perform vocals or make people cry. I am also here to transmit emotions, not necessarily only negative ones, and I am happy to have been able to sing a song that speaks to me and which allowed, both Maïa and me, to give what we know how to do best: a smile.

And the return to “connected” life, how do you experience it?

I was dreading this return to reality with the telephone, etc. Because I was so happy to get away from that thing! That I was afraid to go back there. And also, I didn’t see why people would like me. The evil Thomas in my head was convincing me of this. But I was pleasantly surprised! I didn’t stay on the networks for too long, because I still wanted to give myself time to breathe and manage my emotions. But the number of messages of love I have received is unimaginable and I am so grateful! It’s so weird for me starting from nothing. I’m still having trouble realizing what’s happening. Well, I’ve also seen a lot of mean comments on TikTok etc. but it touched me less than I thought, since there are so many love messages that I can’t wait to open. So here, I’m going to go home, I’m going to sit down, read all that.
