A Belgian festival goes bankrupt

LThe ASBL “Kin Porte Le Projet”, at the initiative of the Feel Good Festival in Aywaille (province of Liège), has declared bankruptcy. This marks the end of the Feel Good Festival adventure, the festival team announced on Monday on its Facebook page, thus confirming the information published in The Last Hour.

This admission of bankruptcy comes after the cancellation, last June, of the 9th edition of the Feel Good Festival. This, which was to take place from June 27 to 30, was canceled a few days before the event due to heavy rains which made the site impassable. The organizers then announced that the festival was postponed until 2025. The postponement, and therefore the non-refund of tickets purchased, had caused controversy, to the point that the consumer defense association Testachats had deemed this decision questionable and had therefore addressed a letter to the organizers to request a refund of tickets.

“This is our last message since a curator has been appointed by the commercial court. It is now up to him to communicate on the continuation of events,” we can read on the Feel Good Festival Facebook page.

On this same page, the comments are shared between people who express their support for the organizers and others who deplore the fact of not being reimbursed, or even who mention a fraudulent maneuver. What festival-goers and artists who were to perform there fear in particular, as raised The Last Hourthus suggesting “that silence was kept voluntarily on this bankruptcy” in order to avoid an action being taken.
