JazzOnze+ broke its attendance record for its 37th edition which ended on Sunday. The Lausanne festival attracted 5,000 spectators to its paid concerts (3,500 last year), 7,000 people (5,000) including the free and cultural mediation events.

Over six days, 26 concerts were scheduled with several world jazz figures such as double bassist Avishai Cohen, saxophonist Branford Marsalis and bassist Meshell Nedegeocello.

Based at the Casino de Montbenon, the festival also relocated this year to the new jazz club in Flon, Les Jumeaux, which “kept all its promises and proved to be perfectly suited to new musical trends in jazz,” write the organizers in their press release.

Attendance at cultural mediation events also broke records, particularly during the Espuma Antigua parent-child concert which attracted 150 people.
