In the wake of the series “Cult”, which tells the story behind the scenes of “Loft Story” through the prism of fiction, the former “lofteur” returned to one of the most emblematic sequences of the program.

These images of Loft Storythe first French reality broadcast in 2001 on M6, caused a scandal: Jean-Édouard and Loana, two candidates from the program, in full torrid embrace in the swimming pool under the prying eye of the cameras. Guest of C The weekly Saturday November 2, the former loft builder returned to this now iconic sequence.

Loft Story has been given a new lease of life since mid-October with the broadcast on Prime Video of Worship. This series retraces, from a fictional angle, the creation of this revolutionary program and takes viewers behind the hectic backstage of production. It was in the wake of the success of the series that Jean-Édouard was invited to talk about his memories:

“We have to put everything in its place: we never made love in this swimming pool,” he assured on the set of 5.

“In this case, we’re kissing but nothing happens. Something happened afterwards. And for us, (at that moment), it’s not supposed to be filmed because we had been assured that this type of image would not be broadcast and we had also drunk a lot just before.”

“It was on TPS, with the channel 24 hours a day”

Jean-Édouard was invited to speak alongside Steevy, another candidate from the program, and Angela Lorente, casting manager for Loft Story remained close to the “lofteurs”. She recalled the urgent efforts to stop the live broadcast of the images:

“A cameraman said to me, ‘They’re f******.’ TPS, with the channel 24 hours a day, on the net, etc.”

As for Steevy, he was in the swimming pool with Jean-Édouard and Loana before slipping away, leaving the other two free to kiss. In Worshipwe see the production arrange to send the young man (played by Félix Blanc) to the confessional in order to leave Jean-Édouard and Loana alone. The real Steevy assured C The weekly that the reality was much less cynical:

“That’s false; the series remains a fiction. In reality, what happened was that I was actually in the swimming pool with Loana and Jean-Édouard… and I simply had to pee so I got out of the pool.”
