Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, new host of the ADISQ Gala, says he is “feverish”

On the eve of the 46e edition of the ADISQ Gala, the new host, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, says he is “proud” and “feverish” to be at the helm of this artistic mass which celebrates Quebec singers and the most promising emerging talents .

In an interview with -, the comedian affirms that the evening will not fail to pay tribute to those who have passed away since the last Gala.

In a video shared on its website, the GalaADISQ already salutes the memory of artists like Karl Tremblay, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Cayouche, Mélanie Renaud and Serge Laprade.

Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais also does not hide his emotion when speaking about his predecessor.

The ceremony will take place Sunday evening at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts, in Montreal.

It will be broadcast live from 8 p.m. on ICI TÉLÉ, on the - website, on ICI TOU. (New window) and on HERE MUSIQUE. A special edition of the show Back to culturehosted by Benoît McGinnis and Sophie Fouron, will also be broadcast at 7:30 p.m. on ICI TÉLÉ.

Les Cowboys Fringants sits on the list of nominations with seven artistic nominations, followed by Karkwa, Salebarbes and Souldia with five nominations. Subsequently, we find Alexandra Stréliski, Alyocha Schneider, Charlotte Cardin and Roxane Bruneau, who all received four nominations.

Certain categories promise to be particularly challenging. This is the case of the Group or duo of the year, in which 2Frères, Bleu Jeans Bleu, Les Cowboys Fringants, Les Trois Accords and Salebarbes compete. If Les Cowboys Fringants holds the record for the group having won the greatest number of Félixes in this category, the four other groups named have all already received the statuette in this same category at least once.

Various services will be offered during the evening. Alyosha Schneider, Elisapie, Half Moon RunIsabelle Boulay, Karkwa, Les Trois Accords, Pub Royal, Roch Voisine, Roxane Bruneau and Souldia will be present on stage during the Gala.

Furthermore, the ceremony will be an opportunity to discover emerging talents, such as Arielle Soucy, BARNEV, Émile Bourgault, Rau_Ze and Sophie Grenier, all nominated in the Revelation of the Year category.

The GalaADISQ follows the First Gala of theADISQ and the Industry Gala, which took place earlier this week.

L’album Pub Royal des Cowboys Fringants was voted Critics’ Choice and Alternative Album of the Year, and the group was rewarded for the video of Let fine you show. Other artists, such as Elisapie, the duo Rau_ze, the group Karkwa and the trio Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou[p]also received a statuette.
