“On the voice of the Chibanias”

After the university, the exhibition will be visible in several neighborhood centers.

Sound and visual exhibition. Based mainly on testimonies, this exhibition highlights Chibanias, elderly women of immigrant background, whom a chaotic life path has gradually made invisible in public space. The Chibanias (“white-haired women”, in Maghrebi Arabic) are these women, now elderly, whom a painful and sometimes chaotic migratory and residential journey has gradually made invisible in French society.

Conference. “Portrait of Guillaume Bonjour (1670-1714), Augustinian from Toulouse: from the Egypt of the Copts to the China of Emperor Kangxi” given by Sydney H. Aufrere, chair XI of the Letters section of the Academy of Sciences and Letters from Montpellier. Born in 1670 in Toulouse, Guillaume Bonjour was an Augustinian monk. He was a theologian, orientalist, mathematician, astronomer and cartographer.
