Who is Lidia Poët, who inspired the Netflix series?
Lidia rules is largely inspired by the life of Lidia Poët, a lawyer who left her mark on the history of Italy during the 19th century. The latter was the first woman to apply to join the Turin Bar. This quickly caused controversy within the country, since at that time, women and men did not have the same rights. After being revoked by the Bar Association which disbarred her, Lidia Poët joined the firm of her brother, Enrico.
What does the second season of Lidia rules ?
In this sequel, Lidia sets herself the goal of changing the law written by men saying that women did not have the right to practice the profession of lawyer in a court. To help her, she asks her brother to join Parliament so that he can present his voice unofficially. Alongside her fight for equality between men and women, Lidia is also confronted with her former love, Jacopo, whom she no longer wants to hear about.
