The work of the autumn session of the 45th edition of the International Cultural Moussem of Assilah, organized from October 14 to 31, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, ended Thursday evening.
The closing ceremony of this edition, organized by the Assilah Forum Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (Culture Department) and the municipality of Assilah, was marked by awarding prizes to several cultural actors, associations and environmental initiatives, in recognition of their efforts in promoting culture, promoting volunteerism and preserving the environment.
The prizes for the writing and literary expression workshop for children were won by Ghoufrane Bouk, Nada Kamraoui and Ferdaous Frikla, while the “beautiful neighborhood” environmental prize was won by the “Nzaha” neighborhood. .
Concerning the “exemplary mother” prize, it went to the artist Elena Asencio Villalante, wife of the late artist Mohamed Melehi, for her contribution to the promotion of the cultural and artistic influence of the city of Assilah and to the training of numerous artists and creators, while the “child of the year” prize was won by Nourane Ya Ali, born in 2013, for her commitment, determination and discipline in the practice of several sports, notably martial arts (Aikido, Iaido and Judo). The Assilah Forum Foundation also awarded the “Association of the Year” prize to the Al Quds Al Assili Football Club association, which works to disseminate sporting culture, to allow everyone to practice football. football and to train the younger generations in this area. This meeting was also marked by the awarding of prizes to the best baccalaureate graduates of the year 2024, namely Salma Ammi, who obtained the best average in literature with 17.30, Houda Ait Addi, best baccalaureate in physical sciences (15 .32), Douaa El Mahdaoui having obtained the best average in life and earth sciences (14.42), Ahlam Sailoukh, best bachelor in economics and management (15.18), Kaoutar Salhi, best bachelor in sciences physics, French section (18.21) and Hind Rabhi, having obtained the best average in professional baccalaureate (13.94).
Speaking on this occasion, the Secretary General of the Assilah Forum Foundation, Mohamed Benaissa, underlined that this edition of Moussem was a great success given its program rich in intellectual conferences and cultural activities, noting that this event promotes the sharing of ideas and knowledge and contributes to strengthening the influence of the city of Assilah on a national and international scale. He noted that this session was marked by the presence of several political, scientific and literary actors, in addition to eminent personalities from the four corners of the world, stressing that the questions addressed by the various conferences of this edition are part of in line with the aspirations of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
It should be noted that this edition was punctuated by the organization of several conferences, as part of the 38th edition of the Al-Mu’tamid Ibn Abbad Open University, dealing with various current topics, in particular “Dilemmas tearing borders in Africa”, “Arab elites in immigration: the current challenge and the possible role”, “Religious movements and the political field: what destiny? » and “The values of justice and democratic systems”.
These conferences gave rise to notable participation on the Arab, African and international scale, with the presence of a host of researchers, thinkers, influential decision-makers, poets and media professionals.
This event was also marked by the organization of two conferences, in partnership with the Policy center for the new South, the first devoted to artificial intelligence and the governance modalities to be adopted in Africa in the digital age, while that the second focused on the theme “culture and inclusion: reducing inequalities through access to cultural resources”.
As part of the “Creativity Tent” space, a vibrant tribute was paid to the Moroccan writer, novelist and poet Mohamed Achaâri, former Minister of Culture, with testimonies given by more than 20 academics, researchers and literary criticism.
