Friday May 24, Carole Delga visited the Lot company Virebent in Puy-L’Evêque, to mark its 100th anniversary. Frédérique Caillet, general director, and Vincent Collin, artistic director of the company, gave the regional president a tour of the casting and enamelling workshops. At the end of this visit, Carole Delga spoke with the employees, congratulating them for their remarkable work.

Created in 1924 by Henri Virebent, this ceramic factory initially produced components for the electrical industry. Bought in 1999 by Frédérique Caillet and Vincent Collin, the company today has 25 employees and specializes in tableware, decoration and lighting. She works artisanally with porcelain, stoneware and earthenware. It is a member of the “Made in Occitanie” signature created by the Region and now has more than 200 companies and artisans.

Since 2016, the Occitanie Region has supported the development of the Virebent company with €82,000. The Region is also a partner of the events organized from June 14 to September 22 by the factory, to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Nearly 2 million euros per year are devoted to training job seekers in the arts; 20 million euros over 5 years to structure the ceramics and arts and crafts sector. Thanks to the “Pass Métiers d’Art”, since 2019, more than 1,300 craftspeople have been supported in their investments, for a total amount of 8.6 million euros.
