Richmond RCMP confirmed Friday that a charge of mischief had been approved against Ahmed Mohamed Hassan.

This text is a translation of a CTV News article.

“Hassan was released on certain conditions, including not associating with the company,” Corporal Adriana O’Malley told CTV News by email.

The incident took place at Timothy’s Frozen Yogurt on Wednesday and was partially caught on camera.

The video shows a man reaching into a window and filling a cone, before leaving the store without paying. On his way out, he is heard complimenting the frozen yogurt and telling passersby to “be careful.”

Store owner Bart Wotherspoon told CTV News he had encountered the same person several times before Wednesday, including around Thanksgiving.

The man’s photo is now posted on the front door of the frozen yogurt shop, and he has been permanently banned from the premises, the owner said.
