The first edition of the accordion festival in Ahuillé, south of , brought together 200 dancers this Sunday. Among the three guest accordionists, Jérôme Richard, multiple world champion and columnist in the television show 1, 2, 3 Musette. He played a wide repertoire, between great classics and French variety.

On the arm of her partner, Geneviève, 76 years old, dances a waltz and the couple spins in all directions. “We like to move a lot and we especially like the accordion. As long as it’s waltz, tango, pasodoble, anything that gives punch, which moves, that suits me,” admits the retiree.

130 km to hear the accordion star

She came with a group of friends. All are members of the Ahuillé seniors association of which she is president. “As soon as we heard that it was Jérôme Richard, it clicked in our heads.” As a result, many of them came and they were not the only ones to have given the word. Marie-Claire came from -Atlantique with a whole group of dancers. They traveled 130 km to hear the star of the accordion.

“In life, you have to have fun. You don’t always have to stay at home,” she exclaims. She came for “conviviality and dancing”. Besides, she hastens to return to the track. Next door, Maryvonne takes advantage of the music change to drink a glass of water. “It’s a first for us and we are very happy. We hope it will happen again.” This should be the case since the organizers have already announced that there will be a second edition next year.
