Tribute, master class, round tables on the program

The Ciné-Maghreb association announces the organization of the 13th edition of the Oujda International Maghreb Film Festival (FIMFO), which will be held from November 5 to 9, 2024, under the theme: “Cinema between citizenship and human belonging. “This edition will be particularly promising with French cinema in the spotlight. This festival aims to energize the Maghreb and international artistic scene while strengthening links between peoples and cultures.

For five days, it will bring together directors, actors, critics, producers, journalists and cinema professionals to celebrate the seventh art and encourage the development of its industry,” indicate the organizers. According to the same source, more than 25 films will be screened in the official feature and short film competitions, with a special selection for children and outdoor screenings in various emblematic locations in the city of Oujda. At the same time, the festival will pay tribute to major figures in cinema and the arts.

It will also offer a series of workshops, seminars, round tables, master classes, as well as meetings with celebrities and guests of honor. Adopting a participatory approach, this event will rely on the involvement of local actors in cultural fields at all stages of its organization.

Partnerships have been established with institutions such as the Oriental Development Agency (ADO), the French Institute of Oujda, the Mohammed 1st University, as well as the regional directorates of the Ministry of National Education and of culture, in order to promote cinema in the Oriental region.
