Those who still believed that Mégan Brouillard had climbed the ranks of the world of humor too quickly were brought back to order on Tuesday during the launch of Quackgrasshis first career solo show.
Mégan Brouillard may have graduated from the National School of Humor only four years ago, before seeing her popularity explode thanks to social media, but she has nothing to envy of the veterans of her domain. The 25-year-old comedian was right in his place in front of the audience at the Salle Albert-Rousseau, who couldn’t resist his humor, which was as biting as it was authentic.
A proud native of Drummondville, the young sensation did not hesitate to exploit the stereotypes of the “regions”. Yes, coronations were part of his recipe, but they were not his only weapons. Her facial expressions and the precision with which she delivered her jokes could have won the hearts of the audience alone. You had to see the crowd slapping their thighs when she talked about her brother’s first name, her grandmother’s gardening habits, or the differences between “riding a horse” and “riding horses.”

Smokers
It’s difficult to pinpoint negative points in this first one-woman show by Mégan Brouillard, but certain segments clearly hit harder than others. We think in particular of his long, but oh so comical monologue on smokers. And don’t think she was talking about this bad habit in a negative way. No, according to Mégan, smokers are part of the pillars of our society.
From one end to the other of this number, which she concluded with a delicious tale recited in her own style from a book installed on her tripod, no one was able not to laugh out loud . It must be said that her stories about her friends in relationships and her jokes about elderly people had a very similar effect.

Beyond her humor, which we wish we could hear again sooner rather than later, Mégan Brouillard showed herself to be endearing, natural and charismatic. She fully deserved the warm standing ovation she received as the curtain fell. Hats off also to his colleague, Matthieu Pepper, for the staging of this show.
Mégan Brouillard will hit the road towards Saguenay for a show on October 9, then head to Saint-Hyacinthe and Sainte-Thérèse on October 10 and 18. She will then go to the Le Gesù hall in Montreal on October 22 and 23.
