A very violent car accident occurred this Friday evening around 7 p.m., on the A344 towards Cormontreuil, in Reims (Marne). Two people died, two men born in 1944 and 1977, a dog also died. The two victims are, according to the police, the drivers of the two cars involved in the accident. According to the first elements of the investigation, the two cars collided head-on, one of the avenues explored by the gendarmes is that one of the vehicles found itself going in the wrong direction while crossing Reims, before hit the other. Investigators do not know, at this time, how fast the two vehicles involved were traveling. Debris from the two cars was still on the roadway this Friday evening. An investigation into the causes of death has been opened, it is the responsibility of the Tinqueux motorway platoon gendarmes.

Investigators are scheduled to hear from several witnesses to the accident this Saturday. To clarify the circumstances of the accident, they plan to use the tapes of several surveillance cameras near the accident site. They must also carry out analyzes to check if there were traces of alcohol or narcotics in the blood of the two victims.
