The composition of the juries of the four official competitions of the 24th edition of the Tangier National Film Festival, scheduled for October 18 to 26, 2024, is now known. According to the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), the jury for the fiction feature film competition will be chaired by director and screenwriter Mohamed Mouftakir. He will be accompanied by the writer and teacher Latifa Bakka, the journalist and communications consultant, Najlae Benmbarek, the academic and researcher Mariame Al Ajraoui, the writer and political scientist El Bachir Dkhil, the director, screenwriter and producer Issa Serge Coello and lyricist artist Nabil Jai. Regarding the short fiction and documentary film competition, it will be chaired by director and screenwriter Khaoula Assebab Benomar. She will share her judgment with journalist Souad Azaitraoui, the director general of the National Center for Cinematography of Mali, Fousseyni Maiga, the film critic, Said Mezouari and the director, producer Rachid Boutounes.
Regarding the jury for the feature-length documentary competition, it will be chaired by director and academic Jamila Annab and composed of journalist Houria Boutayeb and academic, film critic Habib Nasry. Finally, the jury of the school film competition and cinema institutes will be chaired by the director of ISADAC Latifa Ahrare and composed of Sanae Ghouati, academic and art critic, Azelarab Alaoui Mharzi, director and academic . It should be noted that these cited juries will award 22 prizes. They will evaluate several films selected by three distinct and independent commissions made up of Moroccan cinema professionals.
