“It’s the most beautiful competition in France, you have to say what it is”smiles Marion in her bakery. VSth Tuesday evening, at 6:30 p.m. his establishment “To the sweets of Marion & Cédric”, rue Wilson in Périgueux will appear on television, on M6, for the 11th season of the show La Meilleure boulangerie de France. Cédric and Marion received the film crews a few weeks ago.
Customers registered them
It was Cédric and Marion’s clients who signed them up for the show. Although they had both been watching for years, Cédric knew the principle well, since he received a visit from the teams in 2019, when he was a worker at Storini in Coulounieix-Chamiers. Cédric and Marion opened their bakery in downtown Périgueux in 2020. “It’s true that a lot of things are quickly made, taken out of the box. This show is a recognition of homemade things”said Marion.
Rye bread
The couple tasted rye bread, with Périgord flour. And in front of the jury, we also had to do a specialty, and the challenge! If they refuse to say more for the moment, Cédric affirms that he has been “inspired”. “He was impressed by Bruno Cormerais, the baker! HE has a palate… He recognized things, we wouldn’t have thought!“, assures Marion. “Let’s say he’s Best Worker in France, we don’t do it the other way around!”, smiled Cedric. There were also some stressful moments:“at one point, there was a bug in the croissant storage, even though we do that every day!”said Marion.
The couple refuses to reveal everything before the broadcast. See you at 6:35 p.m. this Tuesday evening. The bakery “Aux éclairs de Marion & Cédric” is opposite a bakery in Seyches, in Lot-et-Garonne. At the end, only one establishment from the region will be chosen to represent Nouvelle-Aquitaine during the national final.
