Uno shock wave. And now a storm warning. After the summons of Guillaume Meurice by the management of Radio France, following his column of April 28 in which the comedian reiterated his joke of the “Nazi without foreskin”, after the program “Le grand Dimanche soir” this Sunday , entirely dedicated to the comedian and placed under the sign of the defense of freedom of expression, the trade union organizations of Radio France filed a strike notice this Monday at the end of the day “for the defense of freedom of expression” .

In a joint press release, the union organizations of Radio France denounce the “campaign of denigration and slander orchestrated by political parties, organizations or personalities frankly hostile to the public service of radio, while an audiovisual reform project public will be discussed soon in the National Assembly.

Continuing, the unions denounce “It is at this precise moment that the Management of Radio France, far from defending the vital interests of the company, is leading a policy of social destruction on the airwaves by disrupting the schedules and sacrificing emblematic broadcasts . In particular on France Inter, whose trademark has been insolence and freedom of tone since the end of ORTF, threats weigh on popular and unique programs, which only the public service can produce.

In order to defend freedom of expression and ensure respect for plurality and humor on the airwaves of the group’s various radio stations, they are calling for a work stoppage on Sunday May 12 and pose a series of demands to the management of Radio France, including “the end of the repression of insolence and humor”, “the preservation of the identity and singularity of its channels” and “the limitless reaffirmation of freedom of expression on our antennas.

In her Sunday evening column, Charline Vanhoenacker had slipped, half-heartedly, the “strike notice” as a possible tool of protest after the dismissal of her colleague and columnist Guillaume Meurice. “Some of you have asked us why we are not on strike,” she joked. “First, because we are specialists in strikes (we have done them all for 10 years), we know the rules: 5 days’ notice to Radio France. Wouldn’t you also like us to become outlaws? » This call will have been heard.
