“It’s a difficult decision but we have made the choice to stop this program.” In an interview with La Tribune Dimanche, Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, director of antennas and programs at France Télévisions, announces the end of the show Numbers and letters at the next school year.
“The weekend programming Numbers and letters was not crowned with success,” he explains.
Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez specifies that a “farewell show will bring together Patrice Laffont and Laurent Romejko and will thank the whole team”.
200 million savings
“After fifty years of existence, it is an emblematic meeting,” he adds. Created in 1965 the game is distributed under the name The longest word until September 29, 1970. It then became Numbers and letterson January 4, 1972. It is thus the oldest program of the PAF after The day of the Lord.
