The adventure ended on the evening of Saturday May 4, 2024 for Déborah Andrade. passing two stages of the TV show The Voice on TF1the Blesoise singer was eliminated at the end of the third event, that of the “cross-battles”.

Opposed to Oléma, from Mika’s team, for the title Anyone by Demi Lovato, the one who was coached by Zazie did not obtain enough votes from the public to continue in the competition. If ” sadness “ that she felt at the time of her elimination had time to be digested – the show was recorded in January – Déborah Andrade looks back on this unprecedented experience in her career as a singer.

What do you remember from this adventure?

Deborah Andrade: “I learned a lot, especially about myself, and about others as well. Because all the candidates come from a different background, from other cities and have different experiences. We were able to advise each other or motivate each other. I was a very shy person before. I avoided challenges like that. It strengthened me in the sense that there are things that are scary but you still have to do them. It can only help you grow and discover yourself. »

What was your relationship with your coach Zazie?

“We don’t meet coaches a lot. We have other coaches behind (vocal coach, artistic director, etc.). But in the short time I was with her, I found her to be a very open person, very attentive. She’s got a lot of experience in this profession and she can only bring us good things for the future. She was very caring. He was a great person and a great coach. »

Did you learn anything on a technical level?

“Yes, especially regarding our position on stage. How to perform a piece, how to speak to others through a song. She spoke to us about emotion, a lot about our posture on stage, about how to transmit our music to the audience. »

You also left the style of gospel, with songs from another universe.

“It wasn’t foreign to me because I work in events and I sing a little bit of everything. Maybe for others it was new because I’m often seen singing gospel (1). And in particular Zazie, who saw me in this context the first time (during the blind auditions). The pieces that I performed, like that of Calogero (If only I could miss him, for the “battles” stage, it’s not necessarily my style. But I liked getting out of this comfort zone, which for me was gospel, having taken up the challenge and feeling good in these styles, which I will not neglect for the future. Why not do interpretations in French or French song (in the future)? »

Have you ever had any contact following your time on the show?

“I had a concert request from the of : I am going to do the castle in July. In particular, I had requests from event agencies and a gospel group in . »

What are your goals for the future?

“Continue in music, participate in other concerts. There will also soon be an EP (mini-album) with compositions that I am preparing. And maybe also a move to Paris. Even though I was already confident in (making a career in) music, my time at The Voice boosted me a little, especially in my desire to move. I wanted to do it, but I didn’t know where. This adventure confirmed to me that I wanted to go to the Paris region to network there. »
