WWE presented its PLE “Backlash ” 2024 on May 4 live from the LDLC Arena in -Décines. This was the very first PLE in WWE history on French territory. The show was broadcast on the WWE Network in English and French.

– The pre-show ”Countdown To Backlash” begins with Jackie Redmond welcoming us. We see the wrestlers arriving at the LCLC Arena earlier today.

– We find the panel in the studio from the States with Jackie Redmond, CM Punk and Big E. They present the matches of the evening and we see videos on WWE and France.

– Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Jey Uso. Saxton asks Jey Uso what he’s thinking about becoming champion tonight. Jey says he has chills. Here since day one. Damian Priest is a beast, but he still has to prove himself. This evening France will see the new champion YEET.

– Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Belair says she doesn’t want to talk about Damage CTRL anymore, this story ends. They will take the tag team titles and Damage CTRL will remain on RAW. So it will be over with them.

– Philippe Chéreau and Christophe Agius enter the LDLC Arena as they will commentate on the ringside show on the WWE Network.

– The Pre-Show ends with the panel’s final comments.

WWE Backlash France 2024

The commentators are Michael Cole and Corey Graves.

– Tonight is WWE Backlash France, the PLE starts with the commentators welcoming us. We see the wrestlers arriving earlier today.

– We present the intro video on Backlash France.

– The begins and a fight breaks out between all the wrestlers. Security arrives to separate everyone. Nick Aldis arrives and asks everyone to calm down. Nick Aldis says if they don’t want to follow the rules and attack the security guards, then the match will be a Street Fight !

Street Fight Match

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton vs Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga accompanied by Paul Heyman

The match begins and the wrestlers will fight in the crowd.

At the end of the fight, Orton RKOs Tonga and covers him, but Sikoa blocks the count. Sikoa brings Orton outside the ring and sets up the commentary table. Sikoa gets Orton on the table for a Samoan Spike, but Orton knocks him down with an RKO on the table! In the ring, Owens hits Tonga with chairs. Owens sets up chairs and lays Tonga on them. Owens goes up to the corner, but Tonga stops him. The two clash in the corner. Owens does a Brain Buster from the corner on the chairs! Owens covers him, but the referee knocks him out of the ring. It’s Tanga Loa (another family member) and he attacks Orton ringside with a steel step and hits Owens. Sikoa slams Owens and follows up with his Samoan Spike for the three count.

Winners: Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga

WWE Women’s Championship – Triple Threat Match

Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi vs Bayley (c)

At the end of the fight, Bayley manages to do her Belly to Belly Suplex on Stratton and covers her, but she resists at two. Stratton avoids a charge from Bayley to push her back against the corner. Stratton takes Bayley on his shoulders for a Finlay Slam. Naomi pulls Stratton out of the ring to beat her up, but Stratton pushes her back against the barricade. Stratton gives him an Alabama Slam on the commentators table. Stratton lifts Bayley up and gives her an Alabama Slam on the commentary table. Stratton brings Naomi and Bayley back into the ring and goes for a moonsault, but the two avoid the jump. Naomi and Bayley do a 1D on Stratton. Bayley and Naomi exchange blows and holds, Bayley manages to place a victorious roll-up.

Winner: Bayley

– After the fight, Bayley celebrates her victory to a standing ovation and Naomi congratulates her.

– Backstage, Jey Uso prepares for his match, but the Bloodline comes across him for a face-to-face match.

– We present a video on the story between Priest and Jey.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Singles Match

Jey Uso vs Damian Priest (c)

During the fight, JD McDonagh comes in to trip Jey Uso. Damian Priest is not because he didn’t want any intervention. Jey takes the opportunity to take the advantage and does his Corner Splash on Priest to cover him, but he resists two.

At the end of the fight, Priest prepares for his ChokeSlam, but Jey avoids it and Spears him. Jey covers him, but Priest resists two! Jey goes up to the corner, but Finn Balor arrives. Jey pushes him away with a Superkick. Jey spears Priest, but Priest blocks it with a clothesline. Priest ChokeSlams him and covers him, but Jey resists two. Priest does a Round Kick to Jey and a second when Jey gets up. Priest goes for a third, but Jey blocks him with a Superkick. Jey gives him a second Superkick, a third and a fourth. Jey continues with a Spear. Jey climbs to the corner and splashes him to cover, but JD McDonagh puts Priest’s foot on a rope to stop the count! Jey launches a suicide jump on McDonagh and follows up with a Spear on Balor ringside. Jey goes up to the corner, but Priest gets back up and takes him down. Priest hits a ChokeSlam from the top rope on Jey for the three count.

Winner: Damian Priest

– After the fight, McDonagh and Balor enter the ring to attack Jey Uso. Damian Priest is against the idea and pushes McDonagh and Balor away! Priest tells them to stop doing anything and celebrate the victory with him. They follow the directive.

– Philippe Chéreau is in the ring to announce Backlash’s record. Backlash broke the revenue record for all WWE Backlashes. And Backlash also broke the revenue record for any arena show in WWE history.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Tag Team Match

Kabuki Warriors (c) (Kairi Sane and Asuka) vs. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill

At the end of the fight, the Kabuki Warriors apply an Arm Bar on the opponents. Belair and Cargill reverse the hold with a Double Powerbomb. The Kabuki block a hold from Cargill, but Belair takes the tag. They do a combination of Code Breaker and Slam on Sane to cover her, but she resists two. Next, Cargill stops a pinfall on Belair. Cargill does his Jaded on Sane. Belair continues with his KOD on Asuka for the count of three.

Winners: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill – New champions

– We present a video on the next PLE of King and Queen of the Ring on May 25, 2024.

– We present a video on the rivalry between AJ and Cody.

Undisputed WWE Championship – Singles Match

AJ Styles vs. Cody Rhodes (c)

At the end of the fight, AJ does a Springboard 450 on Cody and covers him, but he resists at two. AJ hits a Burning Hammer on Cody and covers him, but he gets right back up. AJ hits Cody, but Cody pushes him away and does a Cody Cutter to cover him, but he resists two. Cody goes for his Cross Rhodes, but AJ pushes him away. AJ Pele Kicks him. AJ charges at him, but Cody pushes him back onto the apron. AJ goes for Phenomenal Forearm, but Cody blocks it with a Super Kick. Cody continues with a Kimura Lock on AJ. AJ resists and pushes him back into a Slam. Cody blocks AJ’s finisher and goes for a Cross Rhodes, but AJ blocks it. Cody surprises AJ in a quick count, but he resists. Cody continues with a Cody Cutter. Cody follows up with a Cross Rhodes to cover him for the victory.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

The show ends with a celebration by Cody Rhodes to a standing ovation from the fans.
