From Thursday, the former president of the series House of Cards had expressed his anger towards Channel 4, accusing it of not giving him the opportunity to respond to these new accusations, despite several requests. “I’m not going to stand idly by and be attacked by the one-sided ‘documentary’ of a dying channel, desperate to get ratings“, he wrote on the X network.
The 64-year-old actor went even further by granting a twenty-minute interview to Dan Wooton, a British celebrity journalist, broadcast Friday evening on X.I have nothing to hider,” he says. “I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions, but I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologize to anyone who made up or exaggerated stories about me“.

In the process, several members of the team House of Cards had denounced his “toxic” behavior on the set of the series.

While the final season was still being filmed, Netflix decided to show him the door and have the script rewritten to kill off his character, President Frank Underwood. For his part, director Ridley Scott was going to erase him from the film All the money in the worldrefilming all of his scenes with Christopher Plummer.
Banned from the profession, Kevin Spacey would face multiple accusations, in the United States but also in the United Kingdom, at the time when he directed the Old Vic Theater in London, from the end of the years 2000. Two legal proceedings will finally come to an end. In October 20220, the actor will be found not guilty by a New York civil court, following Anthony Rapp’s accusations.
In the summer of 2023, the Southwark Crown Court in London found him not guilty, even though he had been indicted following accusations by four Britons. “I am enormously grateful to the jury who took the time to study all the evidence and facts before making a decision“, he declared very moved when leaving.
Before this new decision in his favor, Kevin Spacey had found his way back to film sets by collaborating on several small independent productions which were never released in France.
