Descriptive text here

The flagship series of Télévisions for the start of the school year in September 2024 was entirely filmed in Dordogne, in 2023. “It was indeed the greatest number of days of filming in the department last year”, specifies Thierry Bordes, deputy director of the Ciné Passion en Périgord association and responsible for the filming reception office.

Viewers will be able to discover the six 52-minute episodes of “Fortune de France”, by Christopher Thompson, adapted from the eponymous historical and family saga by writer Robert Merle.

The teams therefore traveled across the department for four months, between the castles of Biron, Beynac, Fénelon in Sainte-Mondane, Commarque in Les Eyzies, Marzac in Tursac and Bories in Antonne-et-Trigonant.

The story: Black Périgord, 1557. The Wars of Religion threaten France. Behind the ramparts of Mespech Castle, surrounded by a dangerous, hostile and intolerant world, the Siorac family fights for its survival and its beliefs. Jean, the father, is forced to return to violence to defend his ideal. Isabelle, the mother, fights to exist in a world where men make the law. Pierre and François, the sons, suddenly enter adulthood, torn like their country between the Protestant faith of their father and the Catholic fervor of their mother…
