From Forum Theatre to Apeer

But this year there is also new : Marie La Mesta launches a theater workshop with young people with disabilities who live at the Association for Education and Rehabilitation (Apeer) in Tilly.

Do you know about forum theatre? This interactive format allows the audience to become actors in the play being performed in front of them and becomes a real mediation tool.

“In forum theatre, we create a scene of about ten minutes that presents a problematic situation. In a second stage, we present this problematic situation to the audience and it ends badly. In a third stage, the audience can interact while we play the scene and provide solutions. There is also a game master who explains what we are doing again,” explains Marie La Mesta.

Last year, Marie La Mesta led a forum theatre workshop with Apeer residents as part of the inclusion forum in (Seine-Maritime). This year, she aims to export it to schools in the area.

Following this first experience, we put together a file and received a grant under the Culture and Health agreement

Marie La Mesta, member of the Hirondelles.

This project, called Les Forum’idables, therefore aims to go meeting the school public throughout the year: “We are looking for schools, colleges and high schools that would be interested in hosting us.” The call is launched.

Stage edge in October

Before rubbing shoulders with schoolchildren, the Apeer actors will have the opportunity to present their sketches at the next Bord de scène evening. (evening where artists are invited to perform at Apeer, which welcomes people with disabilities, as part of reverse inclusion, Editor’s note).

“This new edition of Bord de scène will be a little special because the company will spend a week in residence at Apeer and will offer workshops to residents before performing on October 11,” announces Marie La Mesta.

The company in question, Le Truc, will present Loversa piece that addresses the theme of love between jealousies and fights “while shaking up the contours of the absurd and the poetically correct.”
